Just noticed that a most interesting point about this piece is that someone has done some \\\"clever\\\" job filling an existing cavity with another sapphire. The polishing marks on the smaller \\\"filler\\\" donot match the bigger stone. The cab sapphire has a gray white body color with an area of blue covering some 20% of the surface towards the edge. The internal structure shows criss crossed lamallae like a checker board. The face up position show circular growth layers looking as you could almost tap it apart ever so lightly. A flatish oval cab sapphire. Wow! (LA) |
