Japan Jewellery Fair ‘95

Organizers of the Japan Jewellery Fair ’95 weren’t discouraged by the slight drop in attendances. The event, which took place at Pacifico Yokohama from September 20-22, drew slightly less than the previous year, however many exhibitors expressed that they found it easier to sell their products this year because they received more visitors who were eager to do business and less sightseeing visitors than they did for the first and second JJF shows.

The main objective of the event, they pointed out, was of activating the business negotiations and transactions towards the Christmas and year-end sales season for the 210 exhibitors and the 13,174 visitors to the fair.

Many retailers commented that they concluded negotiations more smoothly than last year because about 70% of the visitors were retailers and wholesalers.

Also represented were many new countries including, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Malta, the United States, Lithuania, India, Taiwan, Lebanon, Sweden and Saudi Arabia. Organizers say the show generated an estimated US$12 million.
