Triangular and triangles spinel on spinel crystals are often observed. However, this is our first encounter with an indented triangle on a spinel crystal. The indentation sinks into the spinel crystal showing a very symmetric triangle motif. We thought that this was a rather unusual growth phenomena and deserves additional study. None of us here at gemwow have been trained in the science of mineralogy so we are unable to provide an explanation for this interesting feature. Anyone of you out there care to let us know? |
