A highlight of Jewel Fest, Thailand’s first large-scale jewelry fair devoted exclusively to local consumers, was a design contest. The Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association awarded ten prizes totaling B300,000 (US$12,000) for the most creative and appealing drawings, including rings, earrings, bracelets, brooches and necklaces.
